The amount you save depends on two factors: the performance time and price level. Different performances have different pricing. As a Subscriber, you essentially save between 10% and 16% off a full adult price ticket purchased through Ticketmaster. As a Subscriber you also get many other benefits that do not have cash value, such as personalized phone service through Subscriber Services, advance purchasing privileges for many other events at TPAC and ticket exchange privileges. These conveniences, plus securing the same seats for every show in the season, make your Broadway subscription even more valuable.
Yes. Subscribers who refer a friend who subscribes to the six-show season will receive $20 off their own account for EACH six-show season ticket that friend purchases. There is NO LIMIT on the number of referrals, so you can keep referring until your subscription is paid!
Thank you for telling us what shows interest you. Your comments really help us when we begin to book the next season. This is the very reason we now are using surveys to find out what you want to see. As soon as we discover successful Broadway shows, like those mentioned above, we get excited about the prospects of bringing them to Nashville. It takes a great deal of time and money to start a touring road production, complete with a second cast, set, management and transportation costs. So many production companies wait until the show is a hit before they even begin thinking about taking it “on the road”. Once this happens, many cities begin the bidding process. With limited weeks available for each national tour, it’s often a challenge to book Nashville into the route of a nationally touring show. And, quite frankly, the larger cities with the larger subscriber bases are usually the first to get booked. Then we work ourselves into the route, based on the available dates we have, both for the tour and for TPAC, and its resident companies (Nashville Ballet, Nashville Opera, Tennessee Repertory Theatre, and TPAC Presents).
That usually depends on the show. We certainly try to negotiate discounts for our subscribers whenever possible. Sometimes, instead of a discount we are able to offer subscribers advance ticket purchase privileges. Plus, you can conveniently order extra tickets through Subscriber Services – instead of Ticketmaster. If you ever have questions about discounts or other benefits for subscribers on Broadway and non-Broadway shows, simply call Subscriber Services at 615-782-6560, or 1-800-410-4216 if you live outside the Nashville area. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can also log on to www.tpac.org/subscribers.
Each show will have it’s own preferred audience and so age appropriateness does vary by show. Plus, all children and parents are different, so we prefer not to prescribe an exact age limitation. Also, since these are nationally touring productions, many times the agents for the show dictate what we can and cannot print about a show’s content. We always encourage any of our patrons to call us when they may have questions about the content for a particular show. Our website will have a great deal of information and will link you to the official touring production’s website if you want to learn even more. We can tell you for this season, even though Avenue Q uses puppets, this show is generally not recommended for children. Jersey Boys also uses profane “adult Jersey language.” We do have other offerings next year which are specifically geared toward children, such as Bob the Builder and The Backyardigans. Depending on the age of your children and to what level of the arts you feel comfortable exposing them, we recommend you learn as much as possible about each show in advance and, again, call us if you need more information.
These are three premier groups for the Broadway series. To join, you agree to make an annual donation to TPAC Education at a certain level to gain access to various benefits. For Applause Society, the donation level is $1,250 or more annually per pair of seats, for the Performers Circle, the donation level is $300 or more annually per pair of seats. For both of these levels, you gain access to premium, Orchestra level seats in Jackson Hall. As an added bonus, anyone can join the Marquee Club, which grants many additional benefits such as cast parties. The subscription cost remains the same for all donors regardless of the donation amount. By joining any of these groups, your donation helps TPAC Education provide thousands of school children with the opportunity to see shows at little to no cost to them.
