PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR
ARTSMART TEACHING ARTISTS

A variety of professional development opportunities meet the needs of Teaching Artists of all levels of experience. Multi-day all faculty professional development events are scheduled based on need, resources and demand. The objective of professional development is to nurture an artist’s abilities in all areas of ArtSmart teaching practice:

  • Planning & preparation

  • Activity Design

  • Leading Activities (Implementation in classroom)

  • Classroom Management

  • Partnering with a teacher

  • Artist Culture—using artist self to set tone, etc. "seeing through artist eyes."
