The goal of Wolf Trap residencies is for the performing arts to become an integral part of educating young children. Working together, teaching artists and teachers can create a rich learning experience for pre-schoolers. Teachers learn more ways to develop performing arts-based activities for their classrooms while teaching artists strengthen their knowledge of individual classroom dynamics and early childhood educational practice.
Within the seven-week residency format, teaching artists will conduct a mini-workshop for teachers focusing more specifically on an area of that teaching artist’s arts discipline. Teachers may request related special topics as well.
