Teaching Artists visit each ArtSmart classroom three times to guide learners through a sequence of imaginative explorations of a Focus Work of art. This student-driven, inquiry-based approach:
- Gives students a variety of ways to understand the work of art
- Cultivates their own aesthetic sensibility
- Promotes individual expression, which
enhances self-confidence
- Addresses learning styles that are less well-served by traditional education
- Enables students to relate the work of art to learning in and out of the classroom
