Kevin Locke Native Dance Ensemble
Visionary hoop dancing, powerful drums, soaring powwow vocals, dazzling fancy dancing in elaborate colorful regalia, ancient flute songs, cultural insight, and Northern Plains sign language are all present when National Endowment for the Arts award-winning Master Traditional Artist Kevin Locke and his unique native ensemble share vital explanations and authentic tribal stories in this energetic performance. Represented are the Nations of Lakota, Ojibwe, Oneida, Comanche and Choctaw. Kevin’s wisdom and humor give students a thought-provoking message encouraging acceptance of all peoples and respect for the planet. |
