Participating students must be between 3 and 5 years old. Class size is limited to 20 students.
Teachers and aides must be present during the artist's sessions. Wolf Trap Early Learning Through the Arts is a partnership between teacher and artist, and teacher involvement and participation is imperative to the success of the experience.
Teachers commit to both active participation and consistent observation of student response during sessions, input and contribution during artist/teacher meetings, as well as a implementing new arts techniques within their classroom.
Teachers will be asked to fill out class notes and evaluations during and following completion of the residency to give feedback on the artist, the partnership, and the effect on student development in the areas of cognitive, social, and affective development.
Seven-week residencies require a minimum of two classes per center participating in residencies.
A representative of the TPAC Education staff will supervise residencies.
