Six years ago, I had the AMAZING experience of living and working in Dublin, Ireland for half a year.  I was fresh out of college, with “the world is my oyster” mentality, so I decided why not go experience the land of oysters, Guinness and shamrocks for myself?!  Well, to say I had the time of my life while there is a very big understatement because I fell hopelessly in love….with Ireland.  It’s a country unlike any other, full of beautiful wild, rocky coastlines, gorgeous emerald fields, and the most creative people I’ve ever met.  In fact, Dublin definitely rivals Nashville with the amount of live music, dance and theatre one can experience on any given day or night, and I immersed myself in it completely.

One specific night out in Dublin, I experienced the phenomenon that is Riverdance, and I was hooked.  I’ve never encountered, before or after, a show with such energy, excitement and creativity.  The precision each Irish dancer exhibits combined with the fast-paced rhythms of the band had my toes tapping throughout the entire show.  I found myself bouncing in my chair, while I clapped and beamed with excitement from start to finish.  I love how the show weaves Irish history, including the important cultural moments of St. Patrick and the Great Famine, with the energy of Irish dance and music.  I never miss a chance to see the show when it comes to Nashville either!  The show whisks me away to the beautiful emerald isle and right smack into the middle of a Céilidh (Irish dance).  I hope you will all come and experience the sights and sounds of Riverdance, here at TPAC on its farewell tour this season!  And, in the words of the Irish, “Cead Mille Failte!”
