TWELVE ANGRY MEN
May 6-11, 2008

What seems like an open-and-shut murder case becomes a twisted puzzle of prejudice and intrigue. Twelve Jurors in a murder trial are corralled in a room for the duration of their deliberation. As prejudices are tested and evidence weighed, the entire jury is forced to look past the show of the courtroom to unearth the shocking truth. Faced with playing the hangmen, these dozen men must first face themselves. Starring Richard Thomas and directed by Scott Ellis, the National Tour of Twelve Angry Men is produced by Roundabout Theatre Company, one of the country's leading not-for-profit theatres.

Twelve Angry Men stars Richard Thomas in the gripping drama that was so successful last year that the national tour was extended into another season.

As a jury debates the fate of a young man, “the solid anchor in the room is Thomas… effortlessly persuasive in the pivotal role of a man who fearlessly stands alone” (Washington Post). In addition to impressive theatre credits, the star’s prolific work in film and television included the long-running series The Waltons and an Emmy for his portrayal of John Boy.

RENT
March 28 - 30, 2008

See the critically acclaimed Tony Award® and Pulitzer Prize winning Broadway musical that inspired a major motion picture. RENT, written by Jonathan Larson and directed by Michael Greif, is touring nationally.

Critics have called RENT "the best thing that has happened to the Broadway musical in a long time," and have said that RENT "justifies every bit of attention that has been lavished on this phenomenal musical. It shimmers with hope for the future of the American musical." -The New York Times.

Set in the East Village of New York City, RENT is about being young and learning to survive, falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. RENT has made a lasting mark on Broadway with songs that rock and a story that really resonates. Whether it's your 1st time or your 100th time, the time is now for RENT.

The show received its world premiere off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop on February 13, 1996 to ecstatic reviews. It rapidly became a sold-out hit. The show transferred to Broadway on April 29, 1996 where it continues to play at The Nederlander Theatre. RENT is now the 8th longest running show in Broadway history and features musical direction by Tim Weil, choreography by Marlies Yearby, set design by Paul Clay, costume design by Angela Wendt and lighting design by Blake Burba.

A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD
MAY 13 - 14, 2008 in TPAC's Polk Theater

Arnold Lobel's beloved characters hop from the page to the stage in Robert and Willie Reale's musical A Year With Frog and Toad. This stage musical remains true to the spirit of the original stories as it follows two great friends, the cheerful and popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad through four fun-filled seasons. Waking from hibernation in the spring, they proceed to plant gardens, swim, rake leaves and go sledding, learning life lessons along the way, including a most important one about friendship and rejoicing in the attributes that make each of us different and special.

This production is recommended for grades K-6 and ages 5 and up.

THE GLORY BUGLES: FROM BOX SPRINGS WITH LOVE
April 3 - 6, 2008 in TPAC'S Johnson Theater

"From Box Springs with Love" is a comedy spoof of a bad Gospel quartet known as "The Glory Bugles." Four accomplished, award-winning performers magically transform themselves into a musically-challenged foursome from the fictional town of Box Springs, Tennessee. The show offers plenty of the holiness-gone-haywire music from the group's "Get Right or Get Left" CD, including - "If Your Hair's Too Long There's Sin in Your Heart"... "If the King James Version Was Good Enough for John the Baptist (It's Good Enough For Me)"..."Hallelujah To Ya"...and "Heaven Yes...Hell No." This crisply paced two-act show, complete with outdated hairdos and a painfully unfashionable wardrobe, features homespun advertisements from some of the group's local Box Springs sponsors.. a church budget committee meeting that involves the audience...and a slide show about the group's somewhat tortured touring history.
