TPAC offers professional development opportunities for teachers, showcasing a variety of methods for educators to bring the arts into their personal teaching practice. Many experiences are available to all teachers, but some require or include participation in a TPAC arts education program.
School Teacher Teams
TPAC Education creates custom professional development sessions for educators in arts integration and arts-based strategies to address a variety of curriculum topics. These topics include social studies, literature, arts, social-emotional development, and STEM subjects. Please contact us to make an inquiry.
Teacher Workshops cover a wide range of performing arts topics to help teachers build a bridge between academic core subjects and the arts. These 2-3 hour workshops generally focus on specific shows from the Season for Young People.
TPAC’s TechShop dives into all aspects of technical theatre and design with theatre teachers. Seminars serve a range of knowledge and skill-sets and make the production elements of school plays more accessible, satisfying, and successful.
Once their school application has been accepted, within TPAC’s Disney Musicals in Schools program, teachers receive guidance in directing, choreography, and music direction during their first year. Second and third year participants receive continuing education in special topics focused on helping their school’s theatre program to grow.
Professional development with TPAC’s Wolf Trap Early Learning Through the Arts program includes practice for teachers in applying performing arts techniques in the pre-school classroom. In addition, Nashville Wolf Trap provides workshops for participating centers and presents longer sessions at Tennessee conferences and summer teacher trainings.
