Angie Thomas was born, raised, and still lives in Jackson, Mississippi. A former teen rapper, she holds a BFA in creative writing from Belhaven University. Her award-winning, acclaimed debut novel, The Hate U Give, is a #1 New York Times bestseller and major motion picture from Fox 2000, starring Amandla Stenberg and directed by George Tillman, Jr. Her second novel, On the Come Up, will be published February 5, 2019. Thomas will discuss the novel in conversation with Cat Acree, deputy editor of BookPage magazine.

A book signing will follow at the conclusion of the event.

A Standard with Book ticket costs $27.50 and includes one copy of On the Come Up, which can be signed by the author after the event.

Please note that Student tickets do NOT include a copy of On the Come Up. Discount cannot be applied to previously purchased tickets.

If you have purchased a ticket that does not include a copy of On the Come Up and you wish to join the signing line after the event to have books signed, you must purchase a copy of On the Come Up from Parnassus Books at the event in order to be admitted to the signing line. Books will be available for purchase in the lobby.
