DESCRIPTION

Terror and suspicion rip through 1692 Salem, leaving no one safe from charges of witchcraft. A group of girls led by Abigail Williams become hysterical and accuse innocent townspeople of hanging offenses, including prosperous farmer and community leader, John Proctor, as well as his virtuous and blameless wife. In the shocking trials that follow, truth and subtle understanding clash with superstitions and iron-clad beliefs. Arthur Miller’s masterpiece uses the historical events in Massachusetts to examine the similar panic during the 1950s investigations and hearings led by Senator Joseph McCarthy. The company brings a ten-person ensemble and evocative, streamlined set to Nashville.
