KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Tennessee Performing Arts Center is deeply saddened by the tragic impact of severe weather in Nashville and Middle Tennessee. With respect for the communities we serve and concern for the safety of our patrons, touring artists, volunteers, and employees, TPAC and the producers of Jesus Christ Superstar are cancelling the 7:30 p.m. performance on Tuesday, March 3. Patrons holding tickets for Tuesday night's performance have been contacted via email by the TPAC Box Office to move their seats into another performance of Jesus Christ Superstar.
Appealing to both theater audiences and concert music fans, this production pays tribute to the historic 1971 Billboard Album of the Year while creating a modern, theatrical world that is uniquely fresh and inspiring. With music and lyrics by Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony winners Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, Jesus Christ Superstar is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary series of events during the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ as seen through the eyes of Judas. Reflecting the rock roots that defined a generation, the legendary score includes “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” “Gethsemane,” and “Superstar.”
