Due to the cancellation of this year’s Jimmy Awards in New York, TPAC has decided to cancel the onsite Spotlight Awards ceremony originally scheduled for May 16. While we are disappointed that we are not able to celebrate in person the talent and achievement of our Spotlight students who have worked so hard this year, we are exploring how to do this through a virtual celebration in June. Please stay tuned in the coming weeks as we develop that plan.

This is truly an exceptional time. So much has happened in recent weeks in all our worlds. But while there is uncertainty, we can be certain that TPAC and our community will get through this together. More than anything, we want to thank you for your patronage and support because the arts are important to our lives, to unite and inspire us in the best and most challenging times.

An email was sent to all ticket holders on March 20, providing the following options:

  • Donate your ticket cost to support TPAC's nonprofit mission.
  • Transfer the ticket value to a TPAC gift certificate to be used for any performance at TPAC.
  • Get a full refund.

If you did not receive that email, please fill out this survey to let us know which option you prefer.

Note: Due to the volume of requests, refunds may take up to 15 days to process. Thank you for your patience. If you have additional questions regarding a performance, please contact us.

Spotlight Awards are presented in partnership with Lipscomb University’s College of Entertainment and the Arts to encourage young theatre artists in Middle Tennessee. Through the program, high school musicals are evaluated by a diverse panel of adjudicators. In May, the program culminates with workshops taught by industry professionals on the Lipscomb campus. That evening, exemplary work is recognized with The Spotlight Awards ceremony at TPAC, where the top 10 contenders for “Outstanding Musical" perform and honors are presented in a variety of categories, including “Outstanding Lead Actor” and “Outstanding Lead Actress.” The winners in those two categories then move on to national consideration for The Jimmy Awards in New York.
