DESCRIPTION
August Wilson’s Fences is a story strong enough to bear the weight of injustice and yearning and love, at its best and its most destructive. Now in his fifties and working as a garbage collector, Troy Maxson’s crushed dreams, experiences with racism and career barriers still weigh heavily on him. Troy’s yard is his refuge, a sanctuary where, at long last, the grass is finally green. As Troy builds both a literal and metaphorical fence around his life, a unique, yet universal story unfolds, showing us a portrait of the unsteady bridge between family members.
