Join us for a preview of The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat. Based on a true story in which a man mistook his wife for – you guessed it! – a hat. This comedic yet often poignant opera tells the story of a family coping with adversity through the healing power of music. The composer, Michael Nyman captures the wonder and mystery of the workings of the human brain, and then offers us the opportunity to experience the humanity of science in this chamber opera.
The Dinnertime Preview will include a panel discussion, viewing 30 minutes of a rehearsal, and a free box dinner provided by Vanderbilt. Director, John Hoomes, will be joined by Director of Vanderbilt's Brain Institute, Dr. Lisa M. Monteggia, to discuss the artistic approach to and the medical research behind our protagonist's journey.
This free InsideOut Dinnertime Preview event is 90 minutes in length and does not include viewing the full performance.
