Goal & Position Overview
The Public Relations Intern supports the efficiency of the Marketing and Communications department at TPAC, working with various communications staff members to keep day-to-day operations of the Broadway season and performances on track. Overall goals are to publicize TPAC as a leader in the arts community and drive ticket sales to meet operational budgets for the organization
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Supports the Manager of Public Relations and Community Outreach with implementing public relations strategies for the Broadway series and specials as well as the Viva Broadway/Bravo TPAC initiative. This includes but is not limited to: contributing to creating the PR plan for each Broadway show and special, crafting social media content, assisting during the preparation of opening night, helping set up during press events and Bravo TPAC events, continue ongoing social media research projects, delivering show posters to various locations, and logging press hits.
The above listed duties are not all inclusive. This position is expected to perform other work related duties as assigned even though they may not be considered primary duties.
Qualifications & Requirements
The applicant should have an interest in public relations, communications, and media relations; with at least one year of secondary education focused on these fields of study.
Skills and Knowledge Required
1. Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and familiarity with social platforms.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Must be able to manage several projects at once.
4. Ability to speak Spanish is not required but desired.
