Legendary guitarist and songwriter Robert Cray will perform at TPAC’s James K. Polk Theater on Feb. 27. Tickets go on sale Friday, December 1 at 10 a.m.

Blues Hall of Fame inductee Robert Cray grew up in the Northwest listening to everything from Five Blind Boys of Mississippi to Jimi Hendrix to The Beatles. Cray brought these influences into play throughout his career and has been bridging the lines between blues, soul, and R&B for the past four decades.

In 1974 the Robert Cray Band came together in Eugene, OR. Since then, the band has recorded 20 studio releases, 15 of which have been on the Billboard charts, and has played festivals and arenas around the world. His career includes five Grammy Awards, multiple W.C. Handy blues awards, and being inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame making him the first black artist since Hendrix to reach these levels in rock music.

For his latest project, Robert Cray & Hi Rhythm, Cray traveled to Memphis with his friend, renowned Grammy Award-winning producer Steve Jordan, to make a classic soul album with Hi Rhythm, the band that helped create that sound. He will be performing songs off this project and more this February here in Nashville.
