Holland Productions presents a night with Grammy Award-nominated vocalist, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Stokley, best known as the lead singer and drummer for legendary R&B group Mint Condition, performing with legendary R&B group Tony Toni Toné, Grammy Award nominee Kenny Lattimore and Top 20 Billboard singer Annalé at TPAC’s Jackson Hall on July 22 at 6:00 p.m.
Stokley, the Minneapolis-based singer and musician, has toured with luminaries like Prince, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson and Alicia Keys, and he has an impressive list of credits, performing for artists like Janet Jackson, Johnny Gill and New Edition. He has performed on TV with Jimmy Fallon and Conan O’Brien as well as on awards shows such as BET Honors and the AMAs, and his film scores and catalogue of studio work feature Mariah Carey, Usher, Mary J. Blige and Jill Scott.
In 2011, Stokley was featured on Kelly Price’s song, “Not My Daddy,” which earned him his first Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance. He released a new solo album, “Introducing Stokley,” in 2017.
Tony Toni Toné’s contribution to music is legendary. Regarded the world over as a talented, authentic group of musicians who made some of the best R&B music of the 80’s and 90’s, their stats are impressive by any standard: 14 Billboard-charting R&B singles; five number one hits; three Top 10 Pop singles; one gold album; two platinum albums; one double platinum album and over six million albums sold.
The group released five albums in all, including “Who?” (1988), “The Revival” (1990), “Sons of Soul” (1993), “House of Music” (1996), and “Hits” (1997). From fun, upbeat, smash hits like “Feels Good,” to blues-leaning classics like “The Blues” and their signature love ballads like “Anniversary,” the sound of Tony Toni Toné is soulful, organic, classic, and instantly recognizable.
Hailed by The New York Times as a “modern soul man,” Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter Kenny Lattimore landed a Top 10 hit with “Love Me Back,” the simple feel-good track and lead single from Lattimore’s seventh R&B solo album, “Anatomy of a Love Song.”
The project was the first release from the singer’s eOne Music-distributed Sincere Soul Records. Lattimore returned to his roots in gospel music with the release of “A Kenny Lattimore Christmas,” a stunning 11-song holiday project created with multi-Grammy, Stellar, and Dove Award-winning producer Aaron Lindsey that landed as No. 3 on the Billboard Gospel Charts.
Musically influenced by Lalah Hathaway, Erykah Badu, Floetry, Jill Scott and Lauryn Hill, Los Angeles-based singer Annalé effortlessly combines a perfect blend of Neo-Soul, pop and R&B. With an eponymous debut album and being touted by outlets such as SoulTracks, Bossip, and SingersRoom as a star on the rise, Annalé is set to make a major impact with her dynamic upcoming album with Mako Management.
Her debut single, “Roses,” landed in the Top 20 on the Billboard charts, and it’s one of the year’s finest R&B ballads. With its soulful groove, funky bassline and jazzy sensibilities, the single is gaining notable buzz playing on numerous radio stations and AMC theaters.
