‘Wicked’ returns to Nashville with four-week engagement

Wicked Cast

Wicked, Music City’s most popular musical, returns to the Tennessee Performing Arts Center’s Andrew Jackson Hall with a four week engagement March 28 through April 22, 2018. Tickets for the return engagement go on sale on Friday, Jan. 19, at TPAC.org, by phone at 615-782-4040 and at the TPAC Box Office, 505 Deaderick St., in downtown Nashville. For groups of 10 or more, call 615-782-4060.

Declared “The Best Musical of the Decade” by Entertainment Weekly and “A Cultural Phenomenon” by Variety, Wicked is the recipient of over 100 international awards including the Grammy Award and three Tony Awards.

“Nashville loves Wicked – it is a blockbuster and contemporary classic that fans want to see again and again,” said Kathleen O’Brien, TPAC president and chief executive officer. “Wicked has attracted a new generation to the magic of live theatre with its clever storytelling, unforgettable songs, and stunning costumes and sets, and it was time to bring it back to TPAC.” I’m also looking forward to welcoming Nashville’s own Ginna Claire Mason, who is performing on the tour as ‘Glinda,’ back to Music City in her dream role.”

An unlikely friendship between two women in the Land of Oz, Wicked tells the untold story of the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good. Elphaba, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. Glinda is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. The remarkable odyssey of how these unexpected friends changed each other’s lives for good has made Wicked one of the world’s most popular musicals.
