Revelations by Alvin Ailey
Blink of an Eye by Medhi Walerski
Music: Johann Sebastian Bach performed by Itzhak Perlman
An intriguing work that probes the relationship between dance and music, Blink of an Eye explores the fragile boundary between presence and absence, change and stillness. Through movement that flows like sound, it reflects on how everything can shift, disappear, or begin again in the blink of an eye.
A Case of You by Judith Jamison
Music: Joni Mitchell, Performed by Diana Krall
The Miami Herald calls this sensual duet "sometimes startling, inventive and eclectically intimate." An excerpt from Judith Jamison’s 2005 work Reminiscin’, A Case of You is an emotionally intense showstopper danced to Diana Krall’s sultry rendition of the classic Joni Mitchell song.
Difference Between by Matthew Neenan
Music: Heather Christian & the Arbornauts
Matthew Neenan’s choreographic debut with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater features his signature wild abandon and gestural playfulness. Acclaimed singer and composer Heather Christian contributes her raw power to an intricate world of strange tensions, potent griefs, and quiet loves.
Embrace by Fredrick Early Mosley
Music: Various Artists
Fredrick Earl Mosley examines the ups and downs of human connections—messy, beautiful, and everything in between. Set to popular songs by Stevie Wonder, Kate Bush, Ed Sheeran, Des'ree, and P!nk, this piece explores what it takes to love deeply, heal fully, and embrace the journey with open arms.
Grace by Ronald K. Brown
Music: Various Artists
Ronald K. Brown’s Grace is a spiritually charged tour-de-force, described by The New York Times as “astounding, something to be sensed as well as seen.” Blending modern dance with West African traditions, the work moves fluidly between serenity and explosive power, set to a rich musical tapestry from Duke Ellington to Fela Kuti.
Revelations by Alvin Ailey
Music: Various Artists
More than just a popular dance work, Revelations has become a cultural treasure, beloved by generations of fans and acclaimed as a must-see for all. Ailey’s signature masterpiece is a tribute to his heritage. Using African American spirituals, the work fervently explores the places of deepest grief and holiest joy in the soul.
Song of the Anchorite by Jamar Roberts
Music: Maurice Revel, performed by Avishai Cohen, Yonathan Avishai, Barak Mori & Ziv Ravitz
Renowned Ailey choreographer Jamar Roberts gives a fresh take on the 1961 solo Hermit Songs, Alvin Ailey’s reaction to a set of medieval religious texts and the haunting song cycle by Samuel Barber that they inspired. The result is a powerful meditation on passion and devotion danced to jazz trumpeter Avishai Cohen’s interpretation of a Ravel adagio.
